Winter Performance

The 2023-2024 Upper School Winter Performance was a huge success! The show started with filmmaking, a class directed by Mr. Johnson. The assignment the students were given was called “Tale of Two Trailers”. Students had to create two movie trailers of different genres using the same footage.

Following filmmaking was a Shakespeare monologue performed by theater student Patrick C. ‘25 from Romeo and Juliet. Next, Chamber Singers sang two songs, “Carol of the Bells” and “The Longest Time”, with Zara T. ‘24 and Riley V. ‘24 playing guitar, Directed by Mr. Streifert.

Next, theater student Richard H. ‘26 gave a different monologue from Romeo and Juliet. The Instrumental Music Ensemble then performed, playing “Chorale No. 1 & 2”, “Cruisin’Along”, “Splanky”, and “Rhapsody in Blue”. Ruby M. ‘27 recited the final Romeo and Juliet monologue of the night before our dancers hit the stage.

The Dance for Performance class, taught by Ms. Jacob-Zysman, danced to “Get Rhythm” by Johnny Cash and then the Advanced Dance class joined them in a collaboration with Chamber Singers to end the performance with the song “Heart of Stone”.
